One Fab Braid Out!!!!

Hey yall,
So Saturday night after I rinsed my hair I decided to try out the Shea Moisture Curling Souffle now I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on this product some have loved it and others have said it left their hair feeling like a grease ball. So I headed to Target and decided to try it myself, I thought if I hate it completely I can always return it. So I decided to do a braid out since they don't normally hold well on my hair I did 11 braids total with a part straight down the middle( it is more of a permanent part since that is how I wear my hair) Anyhoo, I am normally heavy handed with products but since this one had a set similar to firm jello I decided to apply it lightly. Once I finished braiding I placed my bonnet on and went to sleep. Of course as with all my braid outs my hair was still wet when I woke up(well damp) so I sat under the dryer for 20 minutes and then took my hair down before leaving home. I love the results yall I had a very defined braid pattern and my hair felt very moisturized and fluffy. Once I got home last night from dinner I re-braided the braids with no extra product and went to bed. So I can tell yall I learned an important lesson just because something works for someone else's hair ( or doesn't) will not mean that you will have the same results so try it if you want, but let me know how it works for yall!!! I adore the results and at 12 dollars it is a great styler :)

Rahssoul Clay and I

Hey yall,
So the braids are out I took them down Saturday night and I knew I needed to show my hair some tlc so I decided to do a rahssoul clay treatment. I used it with a cup of coconut milk, cocoa butter and shea butter. Once I made it into a paste I applied it to clean hair and went about my business. I left it on my hair for 45 minutes and then rinsed. Below are the pics of it on my hair. You can mix anything you desire to it but I just grabbed these two butters. :)

Three Strand Twist Takedown

Hey yall,
I just took my twists down it has been about a week and a half but yesterday I took Louie for a walk and it rained so I knew they would be frizzy soon. I actually like the look they held up pretty well,I will definitely do these again in the future. I plan to wash my hair tomorrow and then band it for my next protective style. I plan on trying to do a braided up do which should be fun to say the least, I know how to braid but it has been years since I have tried to braid my own hair so let's hope it goes well.
XOXO,

**I love the look and it looks like the front is finally catching up with the back, it seems to grow the slowest**

Crazy For Eyeshadow

Hey yall,
So about two weeks ago I was in Target and saw this eyeshadow palette on sale for $4.25 and grabbed it I thought what a great deal 12 shadows, a liner and instructions for a natural eye look. Well I got home and my sister made a surprise visit and we went on a mini road trip( but she forgot my camera at home -_-) so I didn't have time to try out the colors. A few days later when I got ready to try out some new looks I opened the palette and it was broken. I took it back to Target and then headed for the section where there had been tons of palettes a few days ago to find nothing at all, so I jumped in the car and headed to the next Target and nothing. I thought I knew of another Target and drove about 15 minutes to the other Target and got lost since I have no sense of direction, after an hour of driving around I headed home and decided to order it from the E.L.F website. The E.L.F website wanted to charge me 6.00 for shipping (yikes) and since I am crazy cheap I went to the Target website and found it and only paid 99 cents for shipping. Anxiously I tracked my eyeshadow online expecting it to arrive on my off day and it came early on a Friday 10 minutes before I got home from the post office (big let down!) So the next day I expected a visit from the post office and never saw my shadow, until I saw that it was being held at the post office (I thought no problem I will pick it up after work the next day.) So that is exactly what I did and marched right into the post office and was told that my package wasn't there, but at the post office in our small downtown the same place where I was at on Friday when I first missed the package. How crazy right? LOL it took me almost two weeks to get this shadow and I still haven't tried out the colors yet,but at least it isn't broken...I did check that. The things we do for products right!?!?
XOXO,
TwistedMarie

P.S. look at this matte polish I got, I love the color but it chips after three days with no topcoat :(

Three-Strand Twists

Hey yall,
I know it's been a while since yall have gotten a post but I can honestly say I wasn't doing much with my hair the past week and a half. We are now in the last month for The Good Hair's Blog Protective Style Challenge I must say I had gotten comfortable with just wearing my hair in a bun. The other day I was at work with nothing to do and came up on a post from Beads,Braids and Beyond blog and saw a style on rope twists/sister twists. I just loved the styles that Nikki does on A's hair so I thought once I got home from work I would try it. Well I washed and detangled my hair last night and then placed it into four banded ponytails and went to bed. This morning I grabbed my Safi Hair Care CLB and begun to twists and well they didn't look to cute on me. Nikki has a video that she posted on her blog which explains how to do the twists and after watching I still couldn't get them to look right, so that idea went out the window. I was about to put my hair back into my go to bun when I remembered that I taught myself how to three strand twist my hair a few months ago. I know what yall are thinking, but it isn't a braid that I am talking about you literally take three sections of hair and wrap them around each other without braiding the hair. I watched a movie called Skin while working on my hair and let's say that I got distracted because one section of the twists are huge while the rest are medium sized but hey it happens ( the movie was about a black woman born to both white parents in South Africa during apartheid, it was awesome to say the least!) But anyhoo, once I finished I was happy with the some what medium sized twists since I normally only do two strand twists. I plan to keep these in for the next two weeks at least since the weather is starting to cool down nicely here in Atlanta, I can get back to my occasional twist outs next month!
XOXO,
TwistedMarie
