DIY Whipped Curly Hair Pudding

So as you all know I have been using the Cantu Coconut Oil Curling Custard, well this week we have had little rain but more humid and hot weather like usual. So my braid out ponytail is always defined in the morning but a frizzy mess in the afternoon. So last night I pulled out my mixer and whipped up my on curly hair pudding. Here is the recipe and I promise it is simple:
1) take two tablespoons of extra virgin unrefined coconut oil and two tablespoons of unrefined Shea butter and slowly melt them down in a double boiler (if you don't have a double boiler you can melt it in low heat for 10 seconds at a time in the microwave just keep an eye that it doesn't boil. So leave it on for 10 seconds let it rest for 10 seconds until it is liquid.)
2) Once your coconut and Shea are an oil allow it to cool for one minute making sure it isn't bubbling.
3) In a large metal bowl ( plastic might melt) take about six tablespoons of Ecostyler gel and then slowly add in your oil.
4) The mixture will look strange but that is when the mixer or a large spoon can be used to whip the gel and oil together. Continue adding your oil slowly and whipping until the mixture turns fluffy and light.
5) Your hair pudding is now ready for a clean jar (I just used an old Shea moisture jar, that I cleaned and dried really well)
6) Enjoy!
This is a picture of my DIY curly hair pudding that I made last night see below.

Pre Pooing with Vatika Oil

So my simple braid and side bun updo lasted this whole week and I am sure that I could have worn it for a few more days but I decided that tomorrow will be my wash day since I don't have any plans. Even though my hair was stretched in this style and still detangled I decided to give my hair some tlc. I can't remember the last time I have done a henna treatment so pre-pooing sounded like a great idea. I applied Vatika oil which is coconut oil with henna, lemon and amla. I applied the oil to my ends and scalp and then pulled my hair into a high bun and covered with a plastic cap. Pre-pooing is a great way to add moisture to your hair before washing and also helps greatly with the detangling process. Stay tuned for my results.

Simple Updo

So Sunday was wash day for me and I wanted to make sure that I kept my hair up and off my neck so I decided to try this style. It is very simple I just made an off center part and made two braids on each side, then pulled my hair into a low side bun and secured it with a hair tie. I am think I might take the bun down and wear it in a large braid for the weekend ,but this style was simple, easy and very low maintenance.

Weekend Getaway

So it has been raining like crazy here in Atlanta, just about every weekend it has poured down. We even had our firework shows either cancelled or delayed because of the rain and I was told that the weather people are expecting it to last for the next ten days. So when my sister sent me an email and asked if I wanted to go to Pensacola to visit family, I packed my bags and hit the road lol. We stayed this weekend and had a blast, the rain did follow us but it didn't stick around long. I wore my hair half up and half down on co-washed hair and placed it in six large braids that i used the Cantu Curling Custard on for a soft hold.See the pics below, I hope everyone had a great weekend!
