Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone:January

So a few posts ago I talked about how I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try new things for 2014. Well this month I decided to try yoga, it's something I have always been interested in but never tried since I felt that you had to be super skinny. At the beginning of the month I signed up for a class in my neighborhood and then went to another class with a few of my friends. It was such an awesome experience because it teaches you how to breathe of course you may not be able to do all the poses that are shown, but with time my flexibility has improved greatly. And since everyone is concentrating on there breathing no one is worried about if you look silly or can do the poses right. I have taken four classes this month and plan to continue it. Stay tuned for next month!

Product Review: KoilsByNature Herbal Soothing Curl Defining Gel

So I have been trapped in the house for a few days a snow storm came through Atlanta on Tuesday and shut the whole entire state down! So with cabin fever growing stronger everyday I decided to take my twists out and wash my hair for a braidout. I used the Koilsbynature Herbal Soothing Curl Defining Gel and let me say this was one of my best braidouts. First the scent smelled heavenly it was a eucalyptus scent and I couldn't help but feel relaxed, and best of all a little went a long way. I braided my hair into about ten braids and let them air dry. When I took my hair down this morning it was pleasantly scented still but not overpowering because eucalyptus can be strong to some. My hair was shiny, well defined and left with a little hold. One thing that I always worry about when trying a new product is if it will leave my hair crunchy and hard, because I like hold but hate the stiff hair look. I must say that this product gave me great results and I plan to put it into rotation. I got it for free last month at a hair event but go to the Koilsbynature website and pick it up if you are interested.

I'm Back!

I know I have been a bit MIA for the past few weeks but I promise I will be back to posting soon. I got a bad cold last week and between work and getting better I haven't been in the mood to do much of anything, I did however twist my hair about two weeks ago. These twists below are medium twists I washed my hair and then blow dried it in small sections on low heat. They took about four hours to complete but of course I watched a few lifetime movies and the time flew by.

Makeup

Playing in makeup is nothing new for me, I just picked up the new Lorac Solid Gold palette. I tried out this gold eye and a nude lip last week and planned to wear it for Christmas but changed my mind. See the look below.

Happy New Year

I'm in my pjs and rockin a high bun! It is freezing here in Atlanta so I washed my hair Tuesday night and then used koilsbynature Moisture Shealoe leave in and it smells amazing, I'm going to do a full review on it soon. My hair is pulled into a high bun with no filler and the edges are slicked with Ecostyler gel for control. I wish each and everyone of you a happy and prosperous 2014.
