Henna Gloss

Hey Curlies,
I did a henna gloss this weekend and I am beyond in love with the results. The other day I was looking in the freezer for something and remembered that I still had somne henna paste from October so I did a little research to see if it was still good to use and most of what I saw said that the henna would actually leave a better stain. So I mixed it with about a cup of conditioner (TJ Nourish) and left it on my hair overnight. I guess I didn't tie the plastic bags on tight enough because I woke up the next morning with some henna on my hands lol. It was such a breeze to wash it out I only need to rinse for 20 minutes instead of my usual 45 minutes to an hour when I use just henna. I still felt that the henna gloss left my hair feeling stronger. I can say that I plan to do these henna glosses more often and hope to get another one in within the next month or so. The pic below is my hair this morning after taking my braids out I used the same 12 braids as usual on damp hair in four sections.

P.S. Have any of you Curlies done a henna gloss? Please share your comments, tips and recipes below! :)

Stretched Hair Is Best!

Hey yall,
So I must say I have learned something about my hair in the past three weeks it is at it's best when stretched. I have been wearing my hair in a braid out for almost two weeks and I must say that I love it. I have been able to keep those annoying SSK(single strand knots ) at bay.I plan on co-washing my hair this weekend and then also doing what I did last weekend and keep my hair protected under my beanie. The weather has still been like crazy here either it is unseasonably warm or raining. So last weekend I braided my hair at night like I normally do and then put my bonnet on over it and donned a chunky beanie, the entire weekend until it was time for me to go back to work. I love keeping my hair in this manner, as much as I love to chat up hair with another curly, transitioner or even relaxed. I like to give myself a break and chill out.Don't get me wrong I could talk hair all day and night but sometimes when I am out with others they kind of look at me strange when I give someone my whole regimen rundown. Especially when I am hanging out and trying to relax or enjoying a nice outing.
XOXO,

P.S. How are you wearing your hair lately? Have any of you ever wanted to keep your hair "hidden" when you are trying to relax? Leave your comments in the box below :)

This Week's Braid Out

Hey yall,
So after washing all the henna out I went right back to my beloved braid out. I parted my hair down the middle and used twelve braids. I took down the braids the next day.I have been re-braiding the same braids each night to help the style last longer without adding any extra product. I know this isn't the best picture but I snapped a pic of my hair the other morning at work and I was trying to do before anybody came in the bathroom lol. How are y'all wearing your hair this week? Any one have any ideas on what I should do with it for next week? Please comment below and let me know. :)

Twist Take Down & Henna

Hey yall,
Last week I started the take down of my last set of twists and let me tell yall it was horrific. I had tangles and knots it took forever (well three days). Once I got them all out I decided to wash my hair and then do a pre-poo since I planned on doing my next round of henna. See the first pic of my bun below I used castor and olive oil and that was the best it softened my hair and helped get rid of the tangles I had left over. I used Karishma henna this time and made it as before with hibiscus tea and powder and of course lemon juice. I left the henna mix in over night and once I rinised I noticed the strength and shine I have been missing. Overall, I love the results that Karishma gave me and at the price of 1.99 from my local Indian store I will be a repeat user( well once I finish my supply of Nupar henna off lol). On another note, as much as I love my mini twists as a protective style I think that next time I will not do them so small and make sure that I have worn my hair stretched for a few days those tangles almost brought me to tears.

Dolled-up Twists!!!

Hey yall,
So this is my first post of the New Year and my twists have been looking a bit frizzy. Like I told yall before the weather has been crazy here warm, cold and rainy isn't the best mix. Anyhoo, I tried a retro bun look and felt so fancy today. Even when I went out to dinner tonight and took pics I loved the look. So what I did is pinned some of the twists into a swoop, placed the rest in a bun and then added my dollar tree animal print head band. If I haven't told yall before I have a love for animal print...and the fact that the head band was only a dollar was just the cherry on my sundae lol. See the pics below I hope everyone is having a good weekend :)
