Three Strand Twists vs. Braids

So I got a few emails and a comment about what the difference is between these two. I know that everybody assumes that they are the same, but there is a big difference. Three strand twists involve three pieces of hair that you wrap one piece around the other two. With braiding it is the same three pieces of hair but you are braiding them into each other pulling hair from the left to the right. When I do a three strand twist out my hair is more tightly curled. With a braid out my hair has a wavy pattern and will hang more than a twist out. I have learned a long time ago that braid outs stretch my hair more. But three strand twists have more hair in a twists so they don't take so long to do on my hair. I hope this makes sense to everyone that was wondering what the difference is, it's a bit hard to explain without showing y'all. Have a wonderful Friday and weekend. Also Happy Easter to all those who celebrate it!

Three Strand Twists

So I have been wearing my hair down for the past few weeks and have needed a bit of a break from weekly styling. I wanted to do mini twists but needed to have more than just a day to do them do I opted for three strand twists these took me about three and a half hours. I wore them in a high bun this week and plan to keep them in until at least next weekend maybe longer.I have started working out again and need something that will keep my style from sweating out. So far I have post 12 pounds in 3 weeks so I am super excited!!! I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!

P.S. So this is my twists on day one and the last is me waiting on my family for dinner, sorry I look so upset I had been waiting for 15 minutes in my warm car lol

Morning.

So I co-washed my hair Thursday night from that wash n go that I attempted. I didn't post any pics of it because it was horrible, my hair was tangled and frizzy. Anyhoo, I used the Cantu Coconut Cream( I know that isn't the whole name but the name is too long to remember ) and I loved the results of my braid out. My hair is a bit big, but I can live with it lol. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Twist out Turned Braid out

So Saturday was wash day for me and since it was so cold I decided to wear my hair in chunky twists with a beanie for the weekend. I used the Cantu Coconut Curling Cream which is becoming and staple and fave in my current rotation. But of course I was satisfied with the twist out it was nice and defined but too much volume ( I know, I'm weird for hating voluminous hair lol, well on myself) so I decided to pull my hair into a low pony and rock a braid out until the next wash day. I am ready for some warmer weather so I can attempt a wash and go this spring.

Twisted Bun

This was how I mostly wore my twist last week pulled into a low bun. I co-washed yesterday and rocked my chunky twist under a beanie in preparation of next week's twist out. I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend, we are freezing here in the "A"

Product Review: Cantu Shea Butter's Coconut Curling Cream

So yesterday was wash day for me and I have been wanting to do a set of twists on my hair. I was in Walmart and happened to come across this new product by Cantu and thought to give it a try. I was shocked to see that this jar was only 5.97! I washed my hair with Trader Joe's Spa Condish and started to twist. The smell is amazing, it smells just like coconuts! The consistency is really thick which meant that I wouldn't need a lot to twist. Once I finished my hair was full of shine and my curls were popping out if this world lol. I will definitely purchase this item again and at this price I plan to put it in rotation.

Low Ponytail Braid Out

So this week has been a bit busy for me, my Mom's birthday was on Monday and my sister and I decided to throw her a surprise birthday party and take family pictures. So I opted for a low ponytail nothing to fancy, I placed my hair in three big braids and used a small amount of Unrefined Shea butter for shine and hold. Tomorrow is wash day and I hope I can get around to it but the Atlanta Falcons are playing tomorrow afternoon and I will be tuned in lol. #RiseUp :)
