Flat Twist

So I've always wanted to wear a nice flat twist out because it seems to be the best of both worlds, I can wear the twists and then as a twist out. So Sunday I spent a good hour detangling my hair and decided to do a few flat twists. I have a wedding to go to next weekend and I'm trying to stretch my hair and I also wanted it to look nice for Christmas. I used the ORS honey and shea butter cream to twist my hair.

P.S. Excuse my tired I look in this pic, I snapped it this morning. We are having the worst thunderstorms in Atlanta and boy did they keep me awake.

Birthday Hair

So I turned 30 and had an amazing time, but first let's discuss my hair. I had planned to straighten my hair since I was off of work three days prior to my actual birthday. I figured one day I would wash it and blow it out, the next day flat iron half and then finish the following day. Armed with all the proper tools I completed everything in one day....bad idea. It was unusually warm in Atlanta like in the 70s(for this time of year)and my hair had me burning up and sweating like crazy. So I attempted to put it in a ponytail and that took a good 45 minutes. I was frustrated, hot and my hair was starting to puff up on me. I grabbed my lottabody mouse and placed my hair in 12 braids for a braid out. Y'all I tried, I really did but the straight puff hair won and I felt defeated. But the braid out of course was super cute. And now I've been rocking these two braids in my hair since Sunday. So that is the story of my semi straight hair. See the pics below. I don't have any pics of me with these two braids but stay tuned.

Perm rod set

I set my hair in a high ponytail and rolled the ends on perm rods. I might have used too much eco styler gel because my hair took forever to dry and was still wet when I took out the rods. But I plan on rocking this curly pony for the rest of the week, since my bday is in a week!

Flat Twists

Two weeks ago I flat twisted my hair, since I'm working out about 5 days a week I needed something that I could keep out of my face and out of my way. This style took me about two hours I have flat twist in the front and two strand twists in the back. I used cantu coconut curling cream to twist my hair.

Twist Out Fail...Revamped

So last Sunday afternoon I washed my hair and then placed it in 12 twists in hopes of a super cute twist out the next day. I figured that since I washed my hair earlier in the day and didn't use too much product that I would be good to go for the next day. Well that didn't work as planned, I was at my desk at work and my best friend came over to tell me hey...she walked up and asked if everything was ok. Knowing her I answered and said yes but saw that she had a very puzzled look on her face. She burst into laughter and said ummm grab a mirror and there it was a fro on one side of my head and the other side with perfectly twisted out hair lol. All I could do was laugh as well and beg her to help me twist it up so I could at least make it through the rest of the work day. I came home and then braided my back into those same 12 braids...and rocked them the whole week. One of my friends had a bridal shower this weekend and when I took the braids down I hoped that my braid out would be well defined and on point...and for my sake it was. Peep the pics below!

PS I'm not mad in these pics I promise...it's just somewhat awkward taking selfies in traffic...I swore the both days I snapped these a car was right next to me.

Top Knot Wedding Hair

One of my good friends got married last weekend and I knew that I would be running around before and after the ceremony so I figured that I needed to keep my hair frizz free and out of my face. I attempted a ponytail roller set but again still couldn't manage to get my whole entire head under the dryer ( but I did roll my hair in under an hour so I'm getting better lol) Anyhoo, I washed my hair and placed it in three jumbo twists and then pinned them around. I used eco styler olive oil (green) for the best hold and a tad of the ORS honey and Shea butter twist cream( it smells devine!)

Mini Twist Out

Alrighty so I took my twist down about a week ago (that song pops into my head every time I say that lol) anyhoo I attempted a braid out but ended up with a puffy hot mess of hair later that day. I tried the following night to twist my hair and the next day ended up with poofy hair. My last attempt was wearing my hair in twists. I untwisted my hair on Saturday for my next wash and ended up with the best twist out. Just my luck right!?! My good friend is getting married this weekend coming up and I'm praying to the Twist out hair Gods that my twist out is super defined and frizz free.
