The Takedown
So I started taking my mini braids down yesterday and they took forever! Surprisingly my hair wasn't too tangled but was extremely dirty. I washed my hair for what seemed like hours in small sections of twelve. I used a new product on my hair and pulled it into a high ponytail. Stay tuned for the review in the next post once my hair has completely dried.

Braided Up
***I wrote this post weeks ago, but it didn't publish. This is my post about the mini braids...sorry :( ***
So I have been wanting to do a set of mini twists for the longest, so Saturday morning I woke up and washed my hair and sat in front of the tv for what would be a long day. As soon as I started I didn't like the way the twists looked so I grabbed my blow dryer and lightly with low heat blew my hair out. I went back to my spot on the couch and at 9am decided to do mini braids. I have never done them before, when I first went natural I put my hair in some small braids and loved the look. These braids took me 11 hours and I was so excited to finish them. I plan on leaving them in for about 6 weeks. See the pictures below XOXO,

Faux Ombré Hair
So my mini braids have been hanging in pretty well. I recently have been wanting to do something new with my hair and came across a post on Curlynikki.com about using the Maybelline Color Tattoos for a pop of color on hair. These are cream eyeshadows and not permanent at all. I used "bold gold" which I already have on hand and applied it to the ends of my hair. I love the color it is subtle and I got a few compliments.

Headed To The Beach!
So it has been a while since my last vacation so I am headed to the beach this weekend for a little R & R. My braids are almost two weeks old and are holding up well. Of course I have experienced a little shrinkage but not like I do with my twists. Every few days I oil my scalp with castor oil and tie them up at night. See the pics below.

P.S. my weight loss is coming along great! I am down 20 pounds and my am eating a lot better than I was 60 days ago. I will give you guys more info about my workout routine in another post.

When A Twist Out Goes Wrong...
So I posted last week that I had those three strand twists in and was so excited for the twist out. I had them in for almost two weeks, but made the mistake of rinsing my hair since it was sweaty from working out. Well I started untwisting and knew that I wasn't going to be happy with the results, so I pulled my hair up and applied some conditioner and made 6 big braids. I took down the braids and wore my hair up for the weekend. I normally pull my hair up this way when I have a twist out or a braid out that just looks funky, especially if my hair didn't dry completely this will cut down on frizz.

TwistedMarie
